Sebastian Schildt is one of Sweden’s foremost gold- and silversmiths. He has his own atelier in the esteemed Oxenstierna Manor on Storgatan 35 in central Stockholm, which is the largest silver smithy in Sweden. Here, Schildt creates both silver corpus and art jewellery.
Sebastian Schildt (f. 1964, Stockholm) resides and works in Stockholm. From 1985 to 1987, Schildt did an apprenticeship with Swedish silversmith Jan Brunk and has been an active gold- and silversmith ever since. He has his own atelier in the esteemed Oxenstierna Manor on Storgatan 35 in Stockholm – which is the largest silver smithy in Sweden – and a place for creating new collections, taking commissions as well as repairing jewellery and art objects. Schildt founded his namesake gallery in 2010 with the aim of creating a world-class showcase for fine art, art jewellery, crafts and design. Galleri Sebastian Schildt is now located on Strandvägen 5B and employs a gallery team who work to exhibit qualitative and unique art in diverse media both by emerging talents and well-established artists. Schildt is famous for his silver corpus, not to mention his impressive production of silver pitchers, but also for his high-end jewellery that often have a strong, personal expression. He also has several longstanding collaborations, e.g. with Court Jeweller W.A. Bolin and with interior design company Svenskt Tenn, as well as commissions from The Swedish Parliament.
